LGBTQ+ Youth Support Group

Beginning August 2, 2018 PFLAG Spartanburg is hosting a support group for youth grades 7 through 12.
The group will be facilitated by licensed therapist,
Theresa Gomes, LMFT from Anchoring Within LLC.

The youth support group will meet at the same time as our regular peer support group on the first Thursday each month at the SCC Downtown Campus in room #158 from 7 – 8pm.

Parents are encouraged to attend the monthly Peer Support Group held at the same time.

PFLAG Spartanburg meets the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m.

You may join us at the Spartanburg Community College Downtown Campus located at 220 East Kennedy Street. We meet in the Arkwright Conference Room #136

All supportive persons are welcome. Membership is encouraged, but not required to attend. All meetings are confidential.

Youth Under 18 Years of Age:

It is PFLAG’s policy that youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all PFLAG meetings and functions.

PFLAG Spartanburg is not a professional counseling organization and makes no such claim. Youth in crisis should contact organizations that are trained and equipped to handle crisis situations.

PFLAG’s mission remains the same, i.e., support, education, and advocacy. PFLAG will provide support to all who attend our meetings, including youth who are accompanied by their parent(s) or legal guardian.

Youth under the age of 18 and others, who are unable to attend PFLAG meetings, may want to contact on of these groups for support.

Other helpful organizations are local LGBTQ+ welcoming church youth groups and your high school GSA (Gay/Straight Alliance). Visit our resources page for more help.
